How to transfer photos from a Samsung phone to Mac without a cable

Step by step

1. On your Mac, open sendtomac.com. A QR code appears.
2. On your Samsung, open the camera and point it at the code. The same site opens, already connected to your Mac.
3. Tap “Choose photos and videos” and pick the ones you want.
4. Tap “Send”. Your Mac downloads a ZIP with all of them, ready to open.

Why Quick Share doesn’t help with a Mac

Samsung uses Quick Share to send files between devices, and on computers it only exists for Windows. With a Mac you’re left with the usual options, and each has a catch.

If the camera won’t read the QR code

What if it won’t connect?

Some networks, like guest Wi-Fi or setups with extenders, stop devices from seeing each other. Turn on your phone’s hotspot and connect your computer to it.

How much does it cost?
